Municipal COurt & Traffic
In New Jersey, traffic offenses and certain low level crimes are heard in the Municipal Court of the township in which the offense occurred.
While these offenses and consequences may seem small, pleading guilty to a traffic or criminal offense can have serious consequences that may stay on your record indefinitely. These consequences include a criminal record, points on your drivers license, suspension of your driving privileges, insurance and MVC surcharges, and even jail time.
It is highly recommended to speak to a licensed and experienced attorney who regularly practices in Municipal Court. An attorney will be able to help by explaining the charges and potential penalties, requesting discovery and reviewing the State’s case for vulnerabilities, advising you on viable defenses, negotiating with the prosecutor, and defending you at trial.
At Azeez Law, we have represented clients in Municipal Court and secured favorable outcomes for our clients.
